This is a live recording of Ray Price and the Cherokee Cowboys in concert recorded in New Millford Connecticut in 1962. Band members consisted of: Buddy Emmons, Pete Wade, Jan Kurtis, Shorty Lavender, and Johnny Paycheck (aka Donny Young).

There's a Buddy Emmons instrumental at 14:28.

Jan also made a nice set of ET recordings that was made into a CD a while ago.

Thanks Greg. I really enjoyed this compilation of Rays' songs and Buddy Emmons music. I often wonder if anyone else will ever be willing to put in the time and effort to reach the level of Buddy's playing and knowledge of the psg? The more that I listen to Buddy's music, the more my respect grows as a fan of his. I have a push pull that Buddy had for awhile but to own his favorite psg, man oh man. Thanks again Greg, Ray and Buddy. Charles L. Curtis

Thanks, Greg.
Just another example of The Big E pushing the boundaries. Both the guitar and fiddle players go with pretty safe and standard tunes for their showcase ( both played beautifully, no disrespect intended) and here comes Buddy out of shoot number 2 playing Kicks To Boot, which I suspect left more than a couple of Ray Price fans scratching their heads.

After all that Jimmy Day did with Ray Price it seems there was little else to do. Then came the 2 E9th chromatic strings and a new era for Ray and the steel guitar was born. Jan is a super nice guy and was a reel to reel recording fanatic. We owe him a lot for assembling and posting these and other recordings.
