Larry Tracy should be playing this Friday night with Big Iron at the Valencia Club in Penryn, about 15 miles east of Sacto off I-80.
The Western Swing Society of Sacramento is holding it's Hall of Fame weekend this coming weekend. There is live music from Thursday afternoon until late evening Sunday night, and most bands have a steel player. I've seen as many as a dozen steel guitars sitting around the wings waiting to go on. There is also a jam room where anyone can play and anything can happen.
Bobby Black has been known to be in attendance and play at these events, but I don't know specifically if he'll be there this year. The event is held at the Machinist Hall, 2749 Sunrise Blvd., Rancho Cordova, Ca., just a bit east of downtown Sacto, off Highway 50.
I'll be playing with the Stardust Cowboys at this event on Saturday afternoon at 3, and then again Sunday afternoon also about 3.
