Hi everyone my Nashville 400 started buzzing fairly loud, when playing all of a sudden there is a lot of static any ideas what might be wrong?
I had a unpowered mixer running a bass and acoustic guitar into it using it for a powered speaker. could that have hurt it?

Is it electronic buzzing or vibration? I experienced the latter and found several old posts about the foam disintegrating on the back of the speaker magnet. I removed that and fixed the vibration. If it is electronic buzzing ... check the reverb tank and all connections to and from that.

I've been playing NV400's for decades. Great amps. Love 'em. Although I often use another setup, the NV400 is my grab-n-go amp for a lot of one-nite gigs.

Here are the five things that can cause problems with the amp:

1) The molex connector underneath the chassis.
2) The molex connector underneath the chassis.
3) If not 1 or 2, then it's the molex connector underneath the chassis.
4) Dirty input and output jacks.
5) Dirty pots.

If none of the above, send the chassis to Peavey and they'll fix it fast, perfect, and for a reasonable price.

One other thing to check or have checked are the power supply caps.

There are only two things about the Nashville 400 that I hate. Both of them are the "Molex connector underneath the chassis".

I had a problem like that with my N-400 years ago. It was the Molex connectors. I cleaned them and no problems since. It did drive me crazy for a while, though.

Molex connector for me too...Clean terminals and install 'dielectric grease' in connector.

Other possible's...Input jack to PCB solder connections, output transistors solder connections (heat cracks)

I solved that problem by snipping the wires from one end of the molex connector and soldered them to the pins. Problem Solved!
