It's Summer and there've been lots of interesting threads about Hawaiian style playing around here. Here are a couple of additional recommendations ...

The soundtrack from the film The Decesdants is a beautifully mixed set of current and classic Hawaiian artists - mostly slack key & vocal but there's some steel in there too.

Barney Isaccs & George Kuo: Hawaiian touch (I'd buy the used one!)

An older classic but a good one. Though known for his electric steel work, even on Dobro Barney had the same beautiful touch and feel.

And lastly, of course, The Lanai Sessions with David Feet Rogers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYhWq9pzvPI

And to create the perfect beverage to accompany these sounds ....

Jeff "Beachbum" Berry is probably THE authority on the history of tropical drinks. He's researched and compiled classic tropical drink recipes from the 30s - 70s. Many recipes were formerly trade secrets or remembered only by retired bar tenders or whispered from behind a potted palm. The drinks recipes are very exact and in some cases, complex (multiple rum brands, etc). But there's even an app now!
