And, man, am I ever looking forward to it! Mine will be a D-10--that's a lot of strings, but I have some ideas.... I've been dreaming about this for a long time.

Here she is!

I only have my S-8 lap steel at the moment, but that is a pretty good idea, Stan!

Go Mike go! This is a dream of mine too - when I feel I've earned it with sufficient dedication and skill, which you certainly have.

Wow! Congrats, Mike. What a gorgeous steel guitar. D-10... I'll be interested to see what tunings you settle on. I'm constantly changing my 10-string Epiphone from extended C6 to E13 to A6, etc. Is the Clinesmith D-10 a long scale like the S-8?

I'm looking thru the pics of Clinesmiths I've collected and I believe our own Bob Hoffnar has just such an instrument.

That's exactly it.

I've had the consoles and they are really wonderful, but I feel like I want something a bit less formal.

@Doug, I'm really looking forward to exploring some more options tuning-wise. I have some good ideas for the stuff I want to play.

Seems like a match made in musical heaven, Mike. Congratulations.

And those 10 string necks work really good with 9 too! Whoa!

upside down so well have to wait a little for the shipping,

Hey Mike,

Good timing on this thread!

A couple of weeks ago, I called Todd to order one of these plank-style guitars, and much to my amazement, he offered to sell me the very one I'd been admiring in the forum pictures.

He just received my money yesterday.
I can't wait to play a guitar that is such an internet darling!

Thanks for your great website Mike. I love the interviews.
Tons of great info, and I have really enjoyed your playing in the clips. I've been listening to them a lot, as I devour all of the Clinesmith steel sound-bites and video-clips I can find...

Rob, we`re so much on the same page it ain`t even funny. I get vicarious chills and thrills every time I find out someone has ordered or received a Clinesmith.

Now you need to get your own copy of the Bigsby book http://www.amazon.ca/The-Story-Paul-Bigsby-Electric/dp/0615243045/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1335568945&sr=8-1

Wouldn't it be great to hear ol' PA's comments from the grave on these updated versions of his classics? Spooky maybe..., but cool none the less.

Mike, your D 10 will sound like a pedal right out of the box. Is the second neck going to be a 24 1/2" scale?

By the way, I have a Remington D10 and love those ten strings all to pieces. They will open up an entirely new world of chords and tunings for you. I can't wait to hear your first posting.

To Mike Neer: Thanks, I will have fun with it, I'm sure. Can't wait to hear what you'll come up with on your D10.

To Mike Anderson: A friend of mine has the Bigsby book, and I've looked through it. Beautiful pictures. You're right though. I do need my own copy...
