I know, another delay on the market! However, this delay I consider a game changer as you can store 3 different types of a dozen different classic delays and it's simple to use. No digital readouts, just big easy to use knobs. The tweekability
and sounds are very nice.

This unit also has 4 tone print storage sections. You get on TC's website, follow the promps with a USB cable and click on a artist and down load their favorite setting. COOL!

I hope to do a video review next week. After using this for a few days I can't see going back to a one trick pony pedal as this allows you to have a delay with a chorus, slap back delay and dreamy delay or whatever you want on three different foot switches.

I have been looking at this pedal all week long. I am going Saturday to the store I buy some of my gear from and they have one put away for me. It is one fantastic pedal. I read many reviews on it and every one says that has bought it, it is a game changer. Definitely not a one trick pony.

Oddly, there is no manual and you have to go to TC's
website but it's OK as I would rather Cut and paste the items I want then print it out and read big print rather than a tiny manual.

Hint: to store a program after you get it tweaked, press the button and a red light comes on whatever the three banks you want to store the program. After you get the sound you want, hold the button for several seconds and it will blink and the program is saved.

My faves:

1. 2290 with modulation for a dreamy delay and slight chorus.

2. Slap Back delay from the Slap delay setting.

3. Space echo modeled after the Roland Space Echo for
a nice warm delay for slower to medium song
Also, you can use the tap temp on any setting you save during a song.

Don't bother with the reverse delay, unless you like the sound of a space ship landing. Also, the ping pong delay unless you have two amps running in stereo.

Don't forget to check out the tone prints as you can down load very easily from an artist. Then again, some of these are way out there...*L* I don't care for the looper and if you use looping you are better with a separate unit.

Hope this helps,

Lenny

Well I picked up the TC Electronics FlashBack X4 and it is quite the pedal. Some of the stuff is not for me like the ping pong delay. This pedal is very tweak-able and you can get some really nice sounds. I also bought the TC Electronics Dreamscape pedal. That is nice also. I have the TC Electronics M-One XL rack effects so I have some really nice sounding effects. Plus sounds really good with my Strat.

Hi Daryl:

Congrats on the Flashback X4 delay. After working with it for several weeks I am more impressed than ever. I listened to all the tone prints and found 4 or 5 I really like that will go well with steel or 6 string guitar. I'll list the tone prints and hopefully a demo next week.

I was amazed at how clean the Flashback is compared to the other delay pedal I've been using for many years. I promptly changed to Flashback for both steel and guitar. I prefer the smaller version. The X4 just takes up too much real estate for me and I don't need the capability to store settings.
