As a tenor banjoist who has been trying to learn a little steel for years, I was excited when a local rocker named Dan Sartain asked me to play on his version of "Moonlight Swim." I just played a few notes at the end of his vocal phrases, but getting to do it was exciting to me. The whole thing took just a few minutes to record. On the recording, I played my 8-string lap steel in A6 tuning. Here's a link if anyone wants to hear the sound sample.

Good job! Its fun to play steel in different contexts, personally I would it even more rewarding when done with 6th tuning and clean tone!

Thanks guys. I tried. The night of the recording, Dan told me that he is a big fan of the Tony Perkins version of this song. Here's that version.
