Hello my fellow steelers!
I normally in the past, had not posted anything here on the "Steel Without Pedals" section because, I hadn`t thought of my steel playing as that. But, as I was just kind of probing the forum, it ocurred to me, that though I played a modified "Carter Starter" I play it without the pedal rack, because of my physically challenged condition, (Double above knee amputee, loss of both legs), that maybe nobody would mind, if I posted a song or two, here also. Anyway, here it is, Enjoy! (I hope )
Ron

Bishop Hall, you are inspiring on many levels. I love the way you made this steel guitar nugget your own and the singing sacred steel approach fits this song so well. Just beautiful. I hope you post more stuff for all of us to hear. Peace. |

Wonderful! Very soulful phrasing. Next to the original I think that is one of my favorite renditions. Nice! _________________ "Don't be mad honey, but I bought another one" |

Great playing as usual Bishop Ronnie. Nice to see how you handle a tune like Sleepwalk in your E-major based tuning. |

Graceful and smooth. I expected nothing less. Really enjoyed it. Every time I hear Sleepwalk from now on I'll have to compare it to this one. _________________ Steve |

WOW! Everybody!
To all the brothers and sisters Steel Players, I am overwelmed at your wonderful responses to my little attempt and effort in trying to play the "Holy Grail" of all Steel Guitar players efforts, and presentations. After all, it seems that every Steel Player sometimes will try to either duplicate this song, or play their version of this "Classic". I just thought too, that I would try it also!!!
Please forgive me, I have always tried to respond to every comment individually, but it looks as though, if I did do it in this case, I would be here until Christmas of next year. But, at least allow me to say, Thanks so much for the expressions, encouragement, loyalty, friendship, support, that has been shown to me, over my little effort to try and play this this classic song that Santo, and Johnny left on record. I love all of you.
Ron
BTW, Bob Stone! This is all your fault!!! Love ya Bro! _________________ Goldensacredstrings
