I picked this up awhile ago from the late Farris Currie. It was a project he started before he became ill. I figured that I would take it over and make a nice little single neck guitar out of it.

Reality, however, has set in and I realize that I am not a good guitar tech, I don't understand how everything works and my ADD will prevent me from doing anything with it. So here it is:

It started out as a square front ShoBud Pro 1. Farris wanted a round front so he used a router to make it one. It has a two-raise, single-lower changer that is in rough shape with some surface rust. The legs, likewise, show some surface rust. All the pretty parts need polishing and, frankly, I'm not sure that all the parts are there to make it playable. I did round up three teardrop knee levers for it. It has a dust-catcher fretboard. The finish has been sanded off and it is bare wood. There are lots of miscellaneous parts and I'm not sure they all belong to a ShoBud. Hopefully, the pictures will answer some questions.

All-in-all, with some knowledge, elbow grease and polishing it could be a pretty nice guitar. Or a parts guitar. I'd like to get $500 for it, which includes shipping to the lower 48. I'll be happy to answer any questions even though I don't know much about it!

I forgot to mention that it includes an original case in pretty nice condition.

Does that have the headstock for the tuners?
Does that have the end plates ?
Pickup?
Are any more parts included that are not in the pics?
It will make a huge difference in the value if it is necessary to spend $100 + for one or more parts that are missing and no longer available.

Good points Don! Yes, the headstock, endplates and changer cover is all there. Needs polishing. It does not have a pickup.

hmmm... looks like an old 6139 round front, has the rope inlays, wide pedals. What's the serial #? I see the barrel tuners in the pics, does it have racks, or round shafts w/ 2 hole pullers? What about pull rods and pedal rods? Cross shafts/bell cranks/rods for the three knee levers? Sounds like there's a lot more stuff that's not in the pictures. An interesting proposition, be nice to know just what's included.

There are four legs, three pedal rods, serial number is 9895. There are several nylon head rods. There are no racks or two-hole pullers. Like I said, there's lots of parts and not all from when it was torn down. There is a rod with two 14-hole bellcranks from later Emmons Legrands.

For some reason I'm having trouble getting pictures to load. Send an email address and I'll try to send them that way.
