I know that this should be in the electronics section but I think it would get a greater audience here.

I've been in the market recently for an RV3 Unit, to be told by one the local guys here that they are now superceded by an RV5 and the 3 is no longer even listed in Rolands' "dogalog".

Has anyone heard anything about these later, newer units??? apparently they are supposedly far superior according to the guy in the shop who's quite an electronics "whiz-kid" arround these parts.

My understanding is that the two sounds - echo and delay are going to be much more atuned to the ears -------any comments greatly appreciated.

Bob, this isn't the RV models, but I have both the Boss DD2 and DD3. With the wide range of control on them and you can ad all the other adjustments on the amp controls, I can't tell the differance between them. I sometimes wonder if it's just marketing????? The DD2 isn't available anymore either.

I wonder is the Boss unit you're talking about is the DD5. That is a delay unit. They also make the DD3. You can tap in the tempo on the DD5. It also has stereo output.

Erv, I'm not sure myself as I left it up to the guy to order one as he's ordering one for display as well as one for another steelie friend of ours.
I can only sit and bite my nails in anticipation
