Beautiful arrangement, but I think the melodic credit has to go to the old hymn "O Sacred Head, Now Wounded," which Paul Simon re-worked so well for "American Tune."
I used to think the melody for that hymn originated with a Chorale by Johann Sebastian Bach, but I read somewhere that Bach himself was working from the melody of another traditional song. Or something like that.

That was terrific. I really love the tune. Willie Nelson recorded a great version, too.
