This past summer I played on a Japanese cruise ship, and one of the other acts was playing a Sanxian. Kind of the ancient Mongolian version of a 3-string banjo, only quite a few centuries older than the American 5-string. It works well with the throat singing, of course they have been singing and playing like that since before Genghis Khan, some 800 or 900 years ago.

It would be nice if people could describe a video before posting the link, so that we wouldn't have to blindly start the download before deciding if we wanted to watch it or not.

Especially if there's banjo content. Oh Well
