Here's some lovely playing by Pete Finney that may have been overlooked by many forumites. He's featured on this album (God Save...) by UK outfit The Clientele, a band I've enjoyed since the late 90's. Needless to say I was thrilled to hear them add some steel to their sound (at least for this album) and his playing here is just too subtle and beautiful not to share.
The standout track for me is called 'These Days Nothing But Sunshine' which sadly, has not made it to youtube yet, but this one is also great.

Haven't heard that in while! (That album is from 2007 I think).
I sure hear some things I would do differently! But I got the impression they wanted the ethereal, atmospheric kind of thing so that's what I went for. I know we didn't labor over it, I overdubbed on the basic tracks it was one or two quick passes; I just heard the song for the first time as the tape rolled.

It's nice to hear from you Pete. That's how I feel about most sessions I do.
I'd be curious to know what guitar/amp setup you used for this session.
- I think you have a Bud that you play? I would guess the band insisted on vintage gear to be more in line with their aesthetic but I could be wrong. |

Most likely a D-10 Sierra straight into a Nashville 112. |
