Just read mention of an experienced player with many years behind him avoiding
the top strings too long, a catch up situation. I was working on a run down to
the 1 in a song tonight and remembered playing this a while back.
Thought I'd share it. Play these as triplets...

Sorry B0B, I guess I should mention that from time to time. Beginners Notes are tabbed for basic E9th ten string tuning. When I use something that is not the basic set up, I usually add a note to indicate that. I raise my 7th string a half step and if used would indicate that.
Thank you for the forum, your help and for taking the time to read my tab. |

I understood that, Dick. My question is the timing. Is it 8th notes starting on the first beat of a measure, changing position on the 4th beat? Or is it in waltz time, changing position at the beginning of the 2nd measure? Or is it 16th notes, speed picking all in one measure and sustaining the last beat as a quarter note?
I tried playing it and couldn't make musical sense out of because I didn't know the timing. The move from the 8th fret to the 5th takes some time. Do you hold that last 8 (on string 3) for longer than the others?
If you surround your tab with the [tab] [/tab] BBCode tokens, you can put a line of timing dots under the tab and they will line up. _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

The "dot" method for down beats is what Buddy Emmons used in his tab courses. Is this how you intended the lick to be played? _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

Sorry I missed that... Played as triplets.
Tab,/Tab... I wondered how they did that. I was looking for some pull down minus or something. Geeze!
Thanks... |

triplets - the one option I hadn't considered!
It sounds good as triplets. Thanks.

Posted 29 Aug 2014 10:43 am I like that timing notation...

Will have to explore that a little... I usually don't bother with timing to much as my band can attest. Lol! |
