Can anyone post a picture of the currently offered MSA vertical knee lever?
Not the new MSA's being produced now, but in my case, for the 1979 MSA Vintage XL.
In my search for pictures, I'm wondering if the ones I'm seeing are the original intended design of MSA, or just an individual's design of their own? Thanks. |

I don't have any pictures, and I sold both my older MSAs and bought new ones.
But I did to like the stock verticals, and had Tom Bradshaw design and make a different one.
I use the vertical with both the KLK and LKR, so I needed one that could be used with either one. Tom made one that was at least a foot long, and was attached to the underside of the guitar more or less at the mid-point between the tuning peg and changer sides.
It worked extremely well. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.

Mike, I think you're on to something, and you're helping me to understand what went on with the MSA vertical knee levers. I just re-looked/re-read what I found on my forum search, and it looks like the original MSA vertical knee levers weren't liked too much?
I think this is the original T-aluminum MSA design?
And this would be the newer preferred design?
Am I understanding this right? |

Here is what Michael Yahl was telling me was modeled on the OEM style. Notice the screw, which stops the lever

Butch, you can see how the stock vertical as shown in the first picture would be work with the LKL, but be impossible to use in conjunction with the RKR.
The lever Tom designed (which is different from the one in the 2nd picture,) would work with either one. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.

I designed and built the one in the second picture. I've added these to several older MSA's I've restored. It is similar to the newer MSA's, but way different from the originals on the Classics. The mounting bracket is not shown, but it is part of my design, the lever also has a thumbscrew for adjusting the angle. _________________ Darvin Willhoite
MSA Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro, Reese's restored Universal Direction guitar, a restored MSA Classic SS, several amps, new and old, and a Kemper Powerhead that I am really liking. Also a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored Rose S10, named the "Blue Bird". Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also have a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks, and a showroom condition Sho-Bud Super Pro. |
