To those who keep up with speakers, what is the lightest 15 in speaker available, the older I get the lighter they need to be, this might apply to the 12in also _________________ Ray Thomas

Edit: I realize now that I am talking about 12s when you were asking about 15s. Still neodymium is the way to go for light. The 15" version of my cabs appears to be about 60lbs a piece.
I don't know much about Steel Appropriate (being green to this game), but in the bass world, light means Neodymium.
I built two of these using neo speakers and they are loud and light (600 watts, ~ 45 lbs). I drive them with a Genz-Benz ShuttleMax 12.0 and it gets as loud as I could want for around 100 lbs (half that if I want to run a single cabinet).

I have a Telonics 15 in a Fender Twin and I love it. Speaker weighs less than 8 pounds but it sounds great. |
