Cool! I have the print copy of that issue.

That prewar Model 27 Dobro has to be one of the great scores on a vintage instrument of all time. Jerry was really stoked about it. He was telling us after a show he did with his band in Napa last June how the deal went down. He suffers from GAS like all the rest of us. He spotted the guitar for sale on eBay, but he couldn't monitor the bidding because he was about to fly to Europe on tour, so his wife Jill became the bidder in the auction and nailed it.

He said that the guitar had literally never been played by anyone in the family from whom they made the purchase. It was a "case queen" to the extreme, decades of being under a bed.

Damn! I don't check eBay all that often. That would have been one to get my heart racing a little bit, I might have been battling Mrs. Douglas for the winning bid on that guitar.
