I'm surprised there was no response to these great videos by this amazing player. If anybody can post a link to a better version of "City Lights" than that, I'd like to see it. Note-perfect, killer tone, impeccable timing - its got it all.

And that Abba medley just blows me away. Interpreting non-steel, pop songs like that is not something just anyone can do and that arrangement knocked one out of the park. Here's another example of what I'm talking about. Creative interpretation, tone to burn and a touch that's second to no one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuI23wEa8Bg

I don't think Sarah Jory gets near the recognition she deserves. I know she went through something of a career hiatus for a time. But credit where credit is due: For tone, taste, touch and timing, she's among the best of the best players working today in my estimation.

Yeah! I enjoyed those clips. Excellent player with a little "attitude!" She puts her whole being into playing and does an excellent job. I'd like to see her live sometime.

Guys....Sarah is a great player. I have known her since she was 14 years old. She is a personal friend of mine with a lovely personality. She also goes out with her own band where she also sings, plays slide guitar..you name it, she'll play it. Many many years ago..still when she was 14 years old, Scotty invited her to play at the St Louis festival. She started with a rapid fast pickin' number..the name I can't recall. She has no fear who she plays in front of. In the middle of her set Buddy Emmons walked behind her and used his Derby hat to "crown" her. When Lloyd Green played at a festival in U.K. years ago....before he played his set, he sat side stage to watch Sarah. As I said she has no fear. Sometimes some consider her to have attitude, but it's all show business with her. No different to players like Joe Wright. You can youtube her playing with her band at various venues in Europe. She has played a multitude of steel guitars, but she still has her Sho-Bud Lloyd Green. Incidently Lloyd is her favourite steel player

Thanks for the additional information, Micky. I didn't mean attitude in a bad way. She just looks like she is in charge of that guitar, it it WILL do what she wants it to do! I enjoy her performances and the show business she puts into her shows.

Larry I understand you, but I have had U.K. players comment about the faces she pulls on some clips of her in Europe. Damn...I love that right hand speed of hers..I like it all Very Happy She has got all those Hal Rugg decending licks right off. One of our Forumites Ken Byng from Southampton U.K. was one of her first if not "the" first instructor she had. He's good on both necks. Smile

Here's a great clip of Sara sound checking at a venue in my home town. Wasn't there unfortunately, I know the sound engineers there and none of them thought to mention she was playing Oh Well
