I saw Ray Myers play steel and trombone numerous times as a kid growing up in eastern Pennsylvania. He played mostly straight I-IV-V chords on the steel as I remember, but did some good melodies (like "When the Saints come marching in.") on the trombone. Anyone else see him in person?
