Here’s an 8 string 27.5†baritone weiss. It’s really amazing and a lot of fun to play. I built this one as a few months ago. I received an order for one and decided to build another while I had the all of the molds set up for these.
Here’s a list of everything it includes:
Honduran mahogany top/back/sides
Rosewood fretboard/bridge/headplate
Curly maple binding
Custom Walnut purfling
Custom rosette; maple/walnut
Satin Lacquer Finish
Gotoh 510 gold tuning machines w/ black buttons
Strings: .070-.017
Bone Nut / Steele saddle
Hardshell Case
Shipping is $25
I love the baritones. The low end is deep and rich, without any muddiness and the highs are nice and clean. Mahogany offers a nice warm and even tone while also providing great sustain and good volume. It’s very well balanced and has an amazing tone. I love these tuned to Bb (B-E-A-D-F♯-B-A-D). But the open B (BF#BEbF#B) is a tuned down open D form sounds great, or you can go a little lower and do BEBEG# B. Also, the Bm7-10 (B-b-F*-B-D-F*-A-D) sounds interesting. One great thing about baritones is you can do many different tunings. These listed are just B oriented, but with some string gauge adjusting you could get into C’s and E’s.
The Gold Gotohs 510’s can be substituted out for nickel ones. The 510’s are incredible tuners, I love the design and they are super smooth. If you want to save $100 I can restring it with normal chrome Grovers. Good tuners, work well but not quite as nice as the Gotoh’s.
This instrument has a nice natural looking Satin lacquer finish. Super protective but not too thick. Thick finishes can really kill the resonance.
The price is $2200, but I'll respectfully address any offers.

Lazy River guitars are amazing instruments. The higher nut gives a bit more tension and is clear and full. I bought a teardrop before Christmas and have 2 more on order. These are the best sounding Weissenborn styles that I have used in the studio. |

Well, I broke down and put it on Ebay. There it sits, next to all of the $500 laminated, so called "handmade" imports. Please save it. It's buy it now is $1950. But please do not buy it thru Ebay. Man those fees are 10% plus 4% for Paypal, that's crazy. _________________ www.lazyriverguitars.com |
