The committee recommended that SB3107, which would make the ukulele the official instrument of Hawai'i as of the 1st of July 2020, be passed with amendments. I didn't read what they were.

The house has put off consideration of the bill until March 18. So there is still time to comment on the situation.

Testimony to the Senate Committee on Technology and the Arts ran about 10 to 1 in opposition to the bill, with most opponents suggesting the steel guitar be so honored. The committee will take up the ukuleleโ€™s fate Tuesday.
