I know this has been covered, but can't remember the details. Can I plug my tuner into the 2nd output on my Goodrich 120 pot pedal? I don't mind just reaching over and turning down the amp while tuning. Just want to know if it's OK to hook up that way.

Hey Tommy,
There is a sticky post at the top of the Electronics page with detailed instructions on how to mod your pedal for tuner out. Or if you're lazy (I am)

You CAN run it as you ask. Most like a tuner out so you can tune quietly without reaching for the amp. Nothing wrong with what you suggest, Tommy.
Ian, while I agree with the tuner out, that wasn't the question.

Thanks for the replies.

To add to my question, if I don't do the mod on the pedal, are there any undesirable effects on the signal that goes to the amp?

It depends on the tuner. Some degrade the signal and some don't. You'll just have to try it.

If it messes with your tone, then do the mod....then you can leave your tuner hooked up all the time.

Thanks Lane, apologies Tommy. I made the inference that you were looking for the sticky thread regarding that setup.

I guess I needed the sticky thread too, in case I go that route. So thanks for that.

Tommy - The mod is super easy on a Goodrich 120. A bit more involved on the Goodrich low profile pedal.

Or just get a Jerry Rig, if you want.
