I recently worked on a 12-string Classic model MSA (about a 1975 model). I couldn't rid the guitar of a hysteresis problem on the 6th string (even though it had new gauged nut rollers.
Does anyone know of a source for ball bearing nut rollers that will fit nicely onto this guitar's nut block? I have always found that precision ball bearing nut rollers will not fail to eliminate this problem. ...Tom |

Mike. You are right and I was aware of that brand. In fact, it was a Russler guitar that I worked on away back in the '70s that revealed to me that hysteresis was non-existent on a guitar with ball bearing nut rollers. The question is, where is the person located that has all the left over parts from that Company? I did receive a message, years ago, from a fellow on the East Coast who said he had a shed full of all those old parts. Trouble is, I can't remember his name and didn't write down that information. Stupid me. Ha. |

I thought I read a few years back ,that Chuck Back of Desert Rose guitars bought a bunch of Russler parts. Could be mistaken....Stormy |

Fred Layman had the parts and he sold most, if not all, the parts to Chuck Back of Desert Rose steel Guitars. I still have my 76" RusLer and never had a problem with it. It plays as good as the day I bought it. |

Haven't a clue. I don't see any trademark on them. |

Take the calipers to one and find the miniature bearing dimensions, prolly McMaster-Carr has the size , and see if u can find a machinist to cut a groove in them. Stormy |
