[SALE PENDING] Carter U-12 in excellent condition, built in '00. It is a 7+5, but currently setup with 6 pedals - no C pedal, A & B are shifted one space to the right. I will re-install standard C pedal for buyer. The other four B6 pedals are stock Carter Uni. Es are on the left knees, vertical lowers Bs, RKL raises string 4 E to F#, RKR lowers string 2 D# to D, raises string 9 B to D. 49.1 lbs. in the case.
$1750 plus actual shipping cost via UPS. [SALE PENDING]

Nice looking configuration! What notes make up the open tuning? Assume dedicated B6 with top E raised to get the E9? |

It's standard uni tuning - strings 1 through 8 are standard E9 tuning, but string 9 D is missing. strings 9 - 12 are B-G#-E-B, so that when the Es are lowered with the KL, the intervals between the 9 lower strings (4-12) end up the same as standard C6, just 1/2 step lower (B6). |

Two people have asked about the string spacing on this guitar now, so I'll answer the question here. The overall spacing of the first ten strings (for comparison to an S-10/D-10) is ~3-1/8" measured from the outside of string ten (see pic).
I don't know if there is a "standard" spacing, but I believe most modern guitars are very similar to this. This is identical to my Sho-Bud S12; on my BMI U12 the spacing is actually slightly narrower, about 3" for strings 1-10. I have a '63 Fender 800 where the spacing is closer to a dobro than a modern steel.

I believe that the string spacing on that guitar- like most others- is 11/32" or .343" . |
