February 22 - 23, that's the date for the February Show in Branson, MO! The Show is moving to a NEW PLACE! The Show will be at the Wheelhouse Restaurant! You're gonna love it!! The Wheelhouse restaurant is fixing a special menu for us. The restaurant is on the same property as the Stone Castle Hotel. The Branson Tourism Center has offered the Ozark Steel Guitar Association a great rate! The Hotel rooms are only $65 a night and that includes all taxes. Most hotels advertise a lower rate and then later add taxes and the end price is much higher than the original. The $65 rate at Stone Castle Hotel is the total price. Also, that rate is available 3 days before the show and 3 days after the show in case you want to stay in Branson for a few more days. That good rate includes a delicious breakfast...homemade biscuits & gravy, eggs, etc. Wheelhouse Restaurant is easy to find. On 76 highway look for WalMart at the Branson Mall and across the street is McDonalds. That street is Green Mountain Drive. Go south and stay on Green Mountain Dr.(less than a mile) and you'll see a restaurant that looks like a big ship, that's the Wheelhouse restaurant and the Hotel is adjacent! Here are the lunch choices they are offering on Saturday and Sunday: Wheelhouse Burger with lettuce, tomato & pickle, Steak Fries, Baked Beans, & Dessert, Iced Tea or Coffee-- Chicken Tenders, Hand Breaded strips of chicken breast, Steak Fries, Baked Beans, & Dessert, Tea or Coffee -- BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich, with all the same extras as the other 2 sandwiches, or Soup & Sandwich, Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Hot & Hearty Bowl of Soup, & Dessert, Tea or Coffee. Each of these entries is only $8.95 which includes Tax and Tip (gratuity) and that's a good deal!! Make your reservation now through Branson Tourism Center, 1-800-268-4014. Tell them you are with the Ozark Steel Guitar Association, ask for Becky. She is handling all this for the club! You can call Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm. If mailing your payment, make it payable to Branson Tourism Center - Att: Groups Dept. # 19875 - 220 Branson Hills Pkwy - Branson, MO 65616 You can also pay with Money Order, Cashier Checks, Credit Card or Personal Check. Upon completion of your reservation you will receive a confirmation letter that you need to sign and fax or scan and mail back to Branson Tourism Center. We're really looking forward to this February Show and we hope YOU are going to be here with us! It will be here before you know it! Get your reservation in early!! _________________ Jerry and Venda

355 people took the trouble to read about the February Mini-Show in Branson! That tells me that's quite a bit of interest shown so early in the year. Yes, it's early in the year but it's not very far from February 22-23. Mr. President, Terry Bethel, has not yet shared the big secret of who's coming to play! But Mr. Charlie Steichen, our vice-president, has been working very, very hard to secure the right venue for the show. If you've read the long announcement above, you will sure agree with me, a lot of planning has gone into it. Keep watching for further developments about the show!!! It's not too early to make your reservations! This year is not like the last few years where you had to bring food, doing your best to satisfy everyones taste buds. There is a restaurant there to satisfy your hunger!! So let's all plead with the weatherman to give us 'good' weather so we won't have to cancel the show. We wouldn't want any of our steel guitar family to have any complications and be put in danger of slick highways. Ya'all come!!! _________________ Jerry and Venda |

How many of you like to hear good news??? I think good news is something like, "Hey,I just lost 3 pounds." or "Hey, I got a surprise check in the mail for $500." What would really be good news is to hear that you're coming to the February Show in Branson and also, that you're bringing somebody with you. Thanks, guys, for letting us know you're coming. That's great!! That's good news!! And thanks, Larry, for bringing it to my attention that over 600 has read the announcement. Now, if only 20% that read about it would come, we'd have a good crowd. _________________ Jerry and Venda |

Larry, I sure agree with you 100% that Mr. Eddie Lane is a top notch steel guitar player. Everything that he does on the steel is so tasteful and so "right"! But I have deep reservations about my own ability to play the steel guitar. However, your words were so kind and encouraging. I'll sure be trying to live up to your comment about my playing! I'm really impressed at how you've learned so quickly on the steel. It took me a lot of years of hard practice before I could do what you do! I credit a lot of my playing to my sweet, little wife who very patiently helped me a million times with each lick that I've learned. I'm a very slow learner! _________________ Jerry and Venda |

True men of God have a big streak of humility going through their veins. Notice that about Jerry ? He and Venda are definately a slice right off the top as Musicians and servants of our Lord to man kind. Miss Eva and I consider it a priviledge to know them and have them as friends. I'm sure there are mulitudes more that share those feelings. May God bless them both, always. |
