| Hello all, I know Sierra is no longer making pedal steels,or so I'v been told, so where would I find replacement pick ups. Sierra has the only slide out pick ups out there to my knowledge. I currently don't need to replace mine, but what if I ever do. Any thoughts. Thanks. Chuck |

The boxes that Sierra used for there modular pickups are still around. You could put pretty much any pickup you want in one.

The new MSAs have modular pickups.

Unfortunately, the Sierra and MSA modular pickup systems are incompatible.

So if he wanted a new guitar with modular pickups, he does have that option.

In my opinion, the big advantage of a modular system is not that you can have all these different pickups, but that you can instantly compare them all and see which one you prefer.
I think every manufacturer should license the MSA system and install it on all their guitars.

Hi Bob. Does Jackson have their own system, or do they use either the MSA or Sierra systems?
The different companies should get together and agree on a single system.

Jim Palenscar at Steel Guitars of North County is the source for Sierra parts, and (last I heard) he has the modular pickup carriers.
