Interested in opinions, demos and sound clips to evaluate differences in the Beard Odyssey and E Model (Mahogany or Maple) -- squarenecks only -- ... if anyone has experience with these 2 reso's I would appreciate any opinons and feedback ... thanks.

I've played both and own a walnut/spruce Odyssey. I bought the Odyssey on a trip to Paul's shop and played everything he had there that day. It's difficult to describe the differences. The Odyssey has the legend cone and is walnut/spruce. The E models played were maple or mahogany. For me, the Odyssey had more punch in the mids and lows and was extremely responsive. The walnut/spruce combination gave it a somewhat mellower, sweeter, balanced sound.

I guess you really have to play these things for yourself but I really like my Odyssey.

That's a problem for a lot of folks Rick. I ordered my Clinesmith based on recommendations and sound clips and have not been disappointed. I liked the Odyssey of all the Beard guitars I played. The MA6 was my second choice.

Somewhat related to this, noted player Mike Witcher has started a series of resophonic guitar demos that are very well produced and recorded. So far he has the BlackBird Jerry Douglas model by Beard and the Scheerhorn wish list guitar.
