I am very excited about a new CD project I played on from Rhonda Vincent! It’s titled, “ONLY MEâ€.
I’m sure many of you have seen Rhonda on the “Country’s Family Reunion Showsâ€, singing stone country songs. I personally put her in the same category as Tammy Wynette, Connie Smith, and Patsy Cline. What an amazing singer. She loves “real country music†and even more importantly, she loves “STEEL GUITARâ€!
Rhonda’s new project contains 6 fantastic country songs. They’re done right, with 2 and 3 part fiddles, upright bass, great electric guitar and piano work, an actual country drummer and - STEEL GUITAR for days! I have a part of every intro and solo on all 6 songs. She jokingly tells people the CD should be named “Mike Johnson†with special guest, “Rhonda Vincentâ€. (I don’t know about that, but you’ll see that she’s not afraid to turn the steel up!)
Rhonda is well known for her incredible Bluegrass Music. She has won countless Bluegrass awards and continues to be one of the hottest acts in that genre. The other half of the project contains 6 bluegrass songs with her amazing band, “The Rageâ€. Even if you aren’t a huge Bluegrass fan, you will love the beautiful vocals and incredible playing.
Many of the country music listeners have moved to Bluegrass Music because it has the heart and soul that we all loved from artists like Ray Price, George Jones and Merle Haggard. Rhonda and Gene Watson recorded a great country duet CD a while back. It has done so well, that Gene has been appearing at some of the biggest Bluegrass festivals in the world with his full band - and Bluegrass fans are loving it!
I think you will enjoy “ONLY MEâ€. If we show our support for Rhonda wanting to record this kind of music, hopefully she will do more in the future. Hopefully this will encourage others to follow suit too. I am pretty sure most of us would love to hear and play more of the of country music we love, again. Thanks.

Mike enhances any recording with his thoughtful and tasty playing. His tone just kills me - always full bodied and crystal clear.

WOW, is all i can say. between Rhonda and Mike there both awesome. been a big fan of Rhonda when I heard her 20 years ago. and same with Mike. always a fan of him . beneath still waters, still raises the hair on the back of my neck when I listen to Rhonda and Mike doing it. love them and thank them for there great music. wish some day I could get to sit down with Mike and just watch him play in person.

Love the re-named CD/Song Title, of The Billy Yates, Penned Song,
Rhonda is a really great Lady and Craftswoman.
Her Voice is Amazing.
Love The "Beneath Still Waters", Youtube video. (Awesome Mike)
She told me that Mike & Billy are "Great People"

We got our copy of Rhonda's amazing CD while we were on the Family Reunion/Larry's Diner Cruise. It is truly a great CD! Not only does she have a wonderful voice, but she is great person. It was a pleasure getting to know her.

Picked this up the other day, not really knowing about it, and man what a CD. Between Mike's playing and Rhonda's voice you can't go wrong with this one!

CD as gift from my buddy Bruce Lohrenz. WOW! Should be album of the year on the CMA awards this week!
But since its REAL COUNTY MUSIC and bluegrass (fantastic, by the way, I usually have trouble listening to BG for long periods of time) You surely will not hear it mentioned on the so-called show, should you choose to watch it.
Album of the year, Artist of the Year, Duo of the Year (w/Gene Watson) Duo of the year again (w/ Willy Nelson) Album of the year. What award have I not given out yet?????
REAL Country Music....Buy it! If you don't love it double your money back from Mike!
