Mike Ihde's awesome sound

I've been a fan of the Leavitt tuning ever since Mike Ihde published the "Different Slant" book.

I'd love to find out how he achieved the awesome tone on his recordings.

What equipment setup did he use?

I know someone's sound has a lot to do with technique, but I'd still like to know what equipment he used.

Maybe Mike is still monitoring this group and can give us a first hand answer.
