This is a very unique, loaded Carter 8 & 8 D10 that has had some serious upgrades done to it and the guitar is in excellent condition. Even though the original guitar is over 12 years old it was in pristine condition when its' undercarriage was updated using the most recent components available at the time (approx. 4 years ago). That work was done by Mr. Bud Carter himself (the most knowledgeable mechanic of Carter guitars alive today.) The keyless system was designed, manufactured and installed by Paul Redmond. He is a "master machinist" who has built/rebuilt many keyless guitars of different manufacturers. It tunes with a standard 7/64" allen head wrench that is standard on many other guitars on the market today. And with the keyless system comes the end of string return issues found on most keyed guitars. Paul also added a strengthening rib to minimize any cabinet.
The guitar has Alumitone pickups and the tone of this guitar is full-bodied, with sweet highs and growling lows. The case is in like-new condition and the cosmetics of the guitar is nearly flawless. Even though the Carter guitars are no longer being produced their pro guitars are still excellent lighweight machines and play solid and smooth, and sound great. The guitar is priced at $3295 (including shipping within the continental U.S.). Or, it can be can be picked up at TSGA (Dallas) or picked-up within 100 mile radius of Atlanta.

Jeff,
Sorry I didn't respond to your question faster but I've been doing a little "traveling".
After 2 back surgeries I don't bend over nearly as well as when I was 25 years old so I raise the position of the adjustable clutches on my rear legs for convenience. I also add a wrap of "tread grip" so I can better hold on to the top of the leg when tightening the clutch. It works very well but can be easily removed since they are adhesive backed. I also have another set of "standard" legs that would be available if the buyer preferred them. |

Wow, bet that thing plays like a dream. I put keyless tuners on a Zum many years ago and it played smooth as silk. Really shortens pedal travel since you don't have that length of string in the key head to pull. _________________ Henry Matthews

Henry, thanks for the compliments on my guitar. And yes, it does play very smooth and balanced thanks to Bud Carter's fine tuning of the pulls and the addition of the keyless system.
I have had some offers to trade for this guitar but I need to sell it outright (having major back surgery is very expensive these days!). Hence, I am lowering the price to $2995 (including shipping within the continental U.S.)and will entertain other offers by email. |
