I know, buy it a drink first.....but seriously folks, I'm trying to guess a year and confirm BCT.
I suspect it isn't too old, as it has the raised Logo, not the sticker. Serial # 0038508120.

Anyone know when this may have been made ?

Thanks!

Wow, that was fast, great info. Anyone know if the year 2000 would be a "BCT" year ?
Thanks again.

Pretty sure yes, Steve. I think BCT came in 1998.

Ken,
Thank you so much for the reply and the link. Based on the chart I've linked to, doesn't the year of production come from the first and fifth digit , meaning 0xxx5xxxxx
Would have been made in 05 ?
Anyone know when they went to the raised logo instead of the sticker Logo ?
Thanks again to Ken and all who respond.

Yup. Trouble with difficult tasks like counting digit places. Yup, BCT either year.

Is your changer 3 up 3 down, or 4 up 2 down?

Thanks Ken,
I haven't actually seen the guitar, so I'm not sure of the changer. Did they change at some point ?
Thanks again.

To the best of my knowledge, during the final years, they offered both a 3 & 3 and a 4 & 2 changer. I could be remembering wrong though.

Everyone knows that the way you date a steel guitar is to saw through it and count the rings in the wood. Oh Well

Forget the exactly abbreviation but it just means that the changer fingers all rest against the wood cabinet. It was something new that Bud Carter experimented with. There are a lot of mixed reviews on this.

I'm confused by dating chart given in the link.
Here's the quote:

"B, C, and D (numbers 2, 3, and 4) are the day of the year manufactured.
Example: 00465118 - xx would have been the 46th guitar made in 2005"

does it mean B,C, and D is the number in sequence of guitars made (ex. 46th) that year?

the words, "the day of the year manufactured,"
appear to be a typo from the previous explanation for F, G, and H (?)

Am I misinterpreting here?
