What is the 'box' a lot of PSG players have right next to their guitar that seems to have a volume control and some effects. The box rectangular is about 14 inches tall or so and about 8 x 10 inches. The guitar is plugged into the foot pedal, then this 'box' and then to the amp. I believe John Hughey used this 'box' as well as Buddy Charlton and others. _________________ GFI Ultra SD-10; Nashville 112; Hilton pedal, George L Cables; Pearse bar; Live Stings;Walker seat by Billy Knowles. |

That is a rack system. The components are 19" wide and can include a preamp, effects and a power amp which feed the stand alone speakers. Other systems have only a preamp and effects with the pwer amps in the speakers such as the TC Forlong speakers.
Visit the Telonocs website to see their system. There are others as well and you can mix and match the components as you like(within limits).

You were correct about him being "Old School".
I recall seeing him at the ISGC and thinking that he had the best tone of the entire weekend.
I can't remember his electronic gear, but there was definitely a Push Pull guitar. |
