The trick is DON'T USE YOUR B PEDAL IN THE FIRST SET.

Or, don't use your B pedal at all! ,

as some have said concerning knee levers (and pedals) "why do you need them in the first place?"

Course, I need them. And it appears that most of you do also. So the real answer is to buy a steel that does NOT break the 3rd string or any other string for that matter.

I aint gunna tell ya which ones they be neither And that goes for da mule ya rode in own 2!!

Well there are some other tricks, My hunch would be the first one broke from normal stress or end of life cycle. The second one could have broke for many other reasons. dirt, bad wrap, twisted, burr on the bridge, roller bridge not rolling...or it could have been just a bad string..it does happen ! Or maybe your wife is just plain right and the gods are speaking to you thru your 3rd string.

I hate it for you
