I want to buy a new amp for my lapsteel (Rickenbacher B6)and have the choice between a 10-inch and a 12-inch speaker. The amp will be a Fender Princeton Reverb clone. Which one should I choose?
Thanks in advance for your answers ...

Unless your Ric has serious problems, it'll sound good whatever you play it through. I have a silverface Princeton Reverb, and a couple Pro Juniors. Both have 10" speakers. I also have a Blues Junior and a silverface Musicmaster Bass. They both have 12" speakers. My B-6 sounds great through any and all of them. If I had to pick just one, I would probably choose a Pro Junior.

Given your decision to purchase what is presumably a hardwired boutique amp, I'd probably choose a 12" speaker.

Peter,

I asked a similar question not to long ago, you might want to look at the responses I got to help with your decision. I have decided on using a 10" Alnico speaker but the brand has yet to be determined. I do agree with Jack that your Ric B6 will sound great through just about anything.

Best of luck,

Gary

I like the tone of a 12" with my Ricky bakelite. It's just a tad warmer. I would think a PR with a 12 would be really nice. For ideas of what kind, you might read the recent thread about speakers for a Deluxe Reverb. There might be a Weber or Jensen speaker that would be good in the PR. Some of it depends on what kind of music you want to play.
