January 25th, was the anniversary of Speedy West's birthday. He was a great friend and a mentor to me and many others. He was my original inspiration to play steel guitar and I got to meet him later in his life. I miss my old Pal...

Billy, I remember talking with you at Speedy's funeral. Such a sad time. I met them in So Cal in the mid 50's and later worked with Jimmy in different venues. I loved them both so much! Speedy was a great guy. He entertained me with his stories. Do you stay in contact with Mary? What pioneers they both were. Think of all the sound that came out of their instruments with no effects bar??? |

Hi Fred...
I remember speaking with you at Speedy's funeral also.. I think Mary has moved; the Christmas card I sent was returned, so I have no current address for her. We did keep in touch for a time, she is a special lady, too. I sure miss Speedy...take care.

One year at the convention, Speedy and I both needed to use the men's room at the same time. As we were using adjacent urinals he turned to me and said "Now you can tell all your friends that you and I hung out together." _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.

Anyone that knew Speedy will recognize this side of him. What a special man.
