I seem to be in a time warp of some kind. I can't get all of the old pop tunes out of my mind that I learned back in the days of black & white RADIO.
The McGuire Sisters were my favorite singers back then and I always had a fondness for "All By Myself in the Morning". Their arrangements were always just short of spectacular and I always wondered who did their arranging.........
He's one I've given my slant on...........

Really nice! Great phrasing and chord voicing. Of course, your tone is always excellent. |

Just beautiful Ray. Very nice how you went back and forth with chording and single lines. What amp and effects are you using? |

Nice version Ray. Loved it. I remember the McGuire Sisters on the old Arthur Godfrey TV and radio shows. Along with the Andrews Sisters, Lennon Sisters and the King Sisters, some of the best vocals ever made.
Keep the old songs coming.

Nice playing Ray! Never heard that song before but it sure makes a great instrumental for steel guitar and you do it justice my friend.
I can hear Jerry's phrasing and his vibrato here and there BTW.
Do some more.

Man, that is sweet. The sound that first drew me to this magical instrument. Very tasteful, everything in the right place. _________________ LeGrande II, Nash. 112, Fender Twin Tone Master, Session 400, Harlow Dobro, R.Q.Jones Dobro |

Really nice work Ray! I believe Murray Kane did a lot of their arrangements, I think he also worked for the DeMarco sisters at one point. Irving Berlin wrote the song. My aunt was a huge fan of the sister groups back in the 40s and 50s. |

Hey Paul......I always wondered if they dreamed up their own arrangements. Each one was a real show stopper; always one of my favorite groups.
Doug many thanks..........
Jeff very nice of you..........
Clyde thanks for listening and your comments.
Roy......we do have several others in mind.
b0b....I had no idea it was Hawaiian. Thanks for the heads-up.
Dennis......I remember those shows also. Connie Francis was always my favorite soloist.
Dom.......thanks for your comment. I was using BIAB
2008 with the style being Cocktail Swing with brushes.
Thank you C.E. Jackson.......
Thank you Keoki.........very nice of you.
Stephen appreciate your comments. I'm using an olde FENDER Pro-Junior with a Holy Grail reverb, Goodrich volume pedal and my 7-string Ric Bakelite.
I appreciate all of the comments. |
