Making room for some new toys, so here is my very early 1964 Fender Bassman 6G6-B amp and cab. The head has had the Filter caps redone,(the cover for the filter caps is there, just took it off for pics to show the caps), but the rest is all original.The trannies, pots, etc all have correct date codes on them. Nothing sounds like a well maintained and original Blonde Bassman. The cab is all original other than the replaced speakers. It has celestion vintage 30's in it, which sound great with this amp. If you are a Brian Setzer fan,or love surf era music, this is the rig to have, and other than age and some wear, its in clean shape as the pics show. The amp has new re-issue Tungsol pre amp tubes, and a pair vintage 5881 Sylvania power tubes that test like new and look it too.Lastly it has a set of custom made Tuki Covers,and they are a must have if you want to protect your vintage gear. You wont find a better sounding example out there, as its always been very well maintained and is ready to go.
$2550.00 gets this one .

| My inflation calculator says that $2550 today would be equivalent to about $335 in 1963. I wonder how much this amp sold for new? Sure is a beauty!!! |

The date code "NA" on the tube chart translates to January 1964;the black faceplate, smooth blonde Tolex, and gold sparkle grillcloth are also consistent with that time frame,Those features didn't appear until mid-late 1963;A January 1963 Bassman would have had a brown faceplate,wheat grillcloth, and "rough blonde" tolex I have a March 1964 Bassman identical to Orlando's-except his is much cleaner. And worth the asking price.  |

One of my favorite fender amps of all time. Get your Brian Setzer tone!
I love the two tube bass channel on this amp. What a huge amount of gain! sounds gorgeous with a guitar.

I use it with a pair of 4-10 open back cabs.

Mine is date coded NF, or June, 1964. It's black tolex. I purchased it in the mid-to-late 1990s, so it may have been recovered at some point. If so, it was a professional job.
Great sounding amp. It's awesome with every speaker combination I've attached it to. Sadly, I don't have an original 2x12 speaker cab. My pal has a 2x12 Bandmaster cabinet from '66 with D-120s, and coupled with my Bassman, it's a piggyback to die for. |
