Old Discontinued Or New Model

For pedal steel is the ROLAND GX an improvement on the Xl, or is there any improvement at all, or is there any difference at all. I see the Xl still at the same price whilst the GX has discounts on offer I would have thought with the XL being discontinued it would have been that particular amp that would have been on offer.
