I am seriously considering selling this highly modified, light weight Excel keyless, 12 string. Body, neck, fretboard, and changer are original Excel. Pickup is George L. It has the original 25 1/2" scale,,,sustains forever! This guitar originally had the keyless tuning mechanism on the changer (right) end. I made my "Kline" style tuning fingers and put them on the left end. Very convenient for changing strings and tuning. I removed ALL of the Excel mechanism "under the hood" and replaced everything, rails, cross rods, bell cranks, pull rods etc, with ETS parts. These parts were designed by Bud Carter for use on the ETS guitars, and were provided to me by my dear friend, may God rest his soul, Larry Agan before he was taken from us in March. I also modified the hook up of the pedal rod to the pedal with a spring loaded push pin similar to the Kline and Lamar design (see pic). The pedal bar is held very firmly in place by moderate pressure created when the threaded end of the leg is screwed down on the slight indentations on the pedal bar. (se pic) Very simple, very secure! It has 7 pedals and 4 KL. It is currently set up VERY similar to the Jeff Newman set up, including "Day" set up on the first 3 pedals. "E's" are on the right knee. Copedent is easily changed, as would be ETS or Carter guitars. I also have extra parts, including an extra pedal and pedal rod, probably enough parts to add at least one additional pull. This guitar weighs 40 lbs in the case (on my bathroom scales,,LOL). If there is any interest at $1750 plus s/h, any questions, please contact me. I would consider a trade on an S10 if it was conducive to certain modifications. Thanks for looking.
