Hi all,
I am going through Jerry Byrd's Instruction course for steel guitar. He starts out with A major tuning, I have searched for a string set to match his:
E-015,C#-017,A-019,E-030,C#-034,A-042
Some are close but not exact, does it matter?

Just Strings sells Hawaiian AM strings but they are heavier: 016,018,022,032,046,054

Thanks a bunch

Deirdre

Deirdre, you can buy individual strings by gauge at any good music store. That's what I do. You should use the gauges that Jerry recommends in the book because he goes through several tunings in the book and those gauges work for all of the tunings. If you have trouble finding individual strings let me know and I'll send them to you.
