What a great weekend it was. Saw some old friends I hadn't seen in years & years, saw some old friends that I see all the time, and made some new ones.
Heard some great playing all weekend long, and just had a ball from start to finish.
Thanks for inviting me to the party...you guys really know how to throw one.
A big tip of my hat to Billy Easton, Joe Naylor, Troy Porter, and all those involved. The whole shebang was a first-class operation all the way.
See you next year, if not sooner. |

I also have to mention "Boo" Bernstein
Not only is he a monster of a steel player, but his unique set of Latin based music was a real change from the "same old"
The steel world is a lot bigger with him in it
Hats off to all you guys |

I second everything that Skip said. It was an incredible event with amazing music and great friendship and camaraderie. It makes me very proud to be a part of this community. Congratulations to Billy, Joe, Troy and everyone else who was involved with hosting this impressive weekend. |

Steve -- I put up my post before I saw yours. Muchas gracias for the very kind words. This was my first performance at an official steel guitar show and I was a bit "psyched out" before my set - especially being surrounded by so many talented players. Everyone was incredibly supportive and I ended up having a blast! Thank you again! |

Yes, kudos to all involved. There was great playing, but also a great variety of music played. Clearly there is a role for pedal steel in much more than country and Hawaiian music (and there was a lot of great country and Hawaiian music done as well!). |

My hat is off to you Californians. This show would not be the same without all of you, including those not mentioned here (Rick Schmidt, Steve Duncan, Jaydee, Jay Leach, Harry Orlove, and I apologize for leaving anyone out.) You guys are incredible and you really do make this show exceptional!
Y'all come back now, ya hear! |
