In case it is any help, it was well packed inside a cardboard tube about 5" long and 2" in diameter.

Yeah I am sure it was not your fault. It seems I had a part time mail carrier yesterday. And I am rural. Anyway, they said they will look for it in route today but I was to post the claim. Really disappointing.
