This one-of-a-kind solid mahogany lap steel was custom made for me a few years ago by Winston-Salem, NC luthier Steve Wishnevsky (www.wishbass.com) from a mahogany plank I salvaged. The Jerry Wallace single coil pickup is one I bought new at the time the guitar was built and it has been the only one in the guitar. Schaller tuners. The body and rosewood board display grain typical of those woods, and have been lemon oiled.
Close inspection of the guitar will reveal that it is not a CNC machined or otherwise highly crafted elegant piece. The control cover plate and string retainer at the bridge are fabricated from aluminum. In that regard it is a "player" that nonetheless sounds really great. The tone is typical single coil voicing, not high gain, and the Jerry Wallace pickup is appreciated as such. I have played it tuned to C13 exclusively and the strings on it are appropriately gauged for that tuning. I do not have a case or gig bag for this guitar, but it has been protected and will be well packed for shipping.
