Always cool to see stuff that nice - definately museum quality, yet it's a dream figure. There was a frypan set equally as nice a bit over a year ago that went for $4k...but that's a frypan.
Btw - did anyone snag the rare 7-string frypan that just ended for $3k?

Wow, that thing sat unloved for a loooong time, but it just screams some unknown tales.
We should have an in-house kitty to toss spare change into so wayward steels like this can be 'rescued' and passed around like a wharf bar tramp. |

The seven string capacity makes it very desirable, but I don't know that I would spend that kind of money on an old Frypan. I think there are better guitars to be had, new and old.

that is from the same collection of the guy that use to own Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa - so he amassed a huge collection from the musicians that traveled & played there over the years - no telling what kind of stories that steel has..or who it came from - obviously has been well played.
he also owns Maurice Andersons Bigsby which is for sale now.
i think the rarity of the 7 string puts that one about right, imo, i'm not a frypan expert by any means, though. the last 7 i saw went for $3500 - just a tad "cleaner" than this one. the good thing about frypans is they are nearly indestructible (unlike Bakelites) -evidence of this one played hard - they will still be around 100 years from now. this ones probably not as bad as it appears. i was thinking of bidding when it was around $2300, but i already have a great 7 string, so it wasnt a high priority for me. now when i was looking for a frypan for over a year there were NONE to be found anywhere, you gotta just swipe these when they come up.
