One of the best respected PSG amps is a Peavey Nashville 112 with a 15" black widow speaker. Does anyone know how much this combo weighs? Thanks in advance.

The NV 112 has a 12" speaker.

Or did I misunderstand the question.

Yes, the 112 is a 12" speaker but many amps I read about have had the speaker changed to a 15" black widow. I suspect the 15" speaker weighs significantly more that the stock 12" but I cannot find specs about the weight increase. At 40+# the stock amp is acceptable. Just trying to decide if I should consider a used one that has had the speaker changed.

I don't think a 15" speaker will fit in a Nashville 112 cabinet.

You could be right. This link is a demo of the conversion. I don't recognize the orange cabinet but my knowledge is very limited. There is a Nashville 400 on ebay that has the 15" installed. I assumed that the conversion was common. Maybe not and maybe not worth it. That said, the you tube link sounds very good.

Sorry All, I think I figured this out. The Nashville 112 comes with a 12" speaker and the 400 comes with a 15" speaker. Now that I look at it, I don't think there is a conversion.

There is no conversion.

NV 400 - 15 inch speaker
NV 112 - 12 inch speaker

Both are fine amps and popular with many players.

the guy has had a custom cabinet built to accomodate the 15 bw and the nash112 amp. looks and sounds nice. what he's ended up with is a nice looking, fairly expensive custom conversion of an 80 watt amp.

a nash400 would be about the same size, maybe slightly heavier with the same speaker and 210 watts of power.....for 'waaayyyyyy' less money.
