I've been using the Quilter Steelaire they've loaned me for Beta Testing. Outstanding amp with some really useful features. _________________ Stop by the Steel Store at: www.markvanallen.com

For Pedal Steel, two Nashville 112 amps (power amp in), from my Stereo Steel Pre Amp, and for overdriven lap steel - a Fender Blues Jr.
My girlfriend just gave me a Fender Super Sonic Twin for Christmas, and it is amazing for so many different tones and instruments... I don't know if I can bear to have it torn up on the road though! It might stay inside!

If I am working a club that allows smoking, my mid '70's Session 400. For others, either my 'Fox Vintage' or my 'Milkman Mini'(12" speaker). With either amp I normally add an extension cab loaded with an Eminence EPS-15C if space on stage permits. |

Small rooms = NV112
Large rooms = NV 400
No complaints about either.

Depends on several things for me.
Lower volume - '74 silverface Fender Deluxe Reverb
More volume - maybe add a brown '63 RI Fender Vibroverb
Yet more - maybe add a '57 Fender tweed Bassman instead
Or maybe a NV 112 or 400 if I know it's an 'all-clean' night. Whatever I think will work for the gig, which depends on what style is happening. I played a pretty loud blues-rock-country gig with a (loud but very good) hard rock drummer at Treasure Lake in Du Bois PA the other night - the '74 Deluxe and brown RI Vibroverb were perfect, for both steel and guitar. What country there was, was definitely 'modern' country, which was sorta' like melodic rock. Those country tunes were all-steel, and the Fender tube amps really got what we were looking for. |

I use my Peavey Nashville 112 at home, shows, and also when I play at my church. It's my best amp and I've been using it since 2004-almost ten years now with the 112. Prior to the 112, I used a little Peavey Rage 108 and then a Fender Champion amp, but I found my best amp is the 112. It's worked really well with my GFI guitar, and does the same with my Jackson BlackJack Custom Steel Guitar. I used the Rage 108 and Fender Champion with my Emmons guitar, but the 112 is awesome! It's full of amazing, crystal clear steel tones! My dad turned the middle knobs to the setting I like, which is mainly clear steel with very little or no effects. I use no reverb, so the sound of the guitar is just right! |

Moderate volumes, or if amp miked, 65 RI Twin (aftermarket converted to 15, but it doesn't say Custom 15). Best tone I've ever gotten.
For more oomph, Fender Super Twin and/or Session 500 _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects |

Room on the stage is how I figure what amps to use. More Room: Session 400 LTD. and a Pro Reverb for guitar. Less Room: Fender Twin Rvb, for Steel&Guitar. Outside,Big Stage: The Session, and a Marshall 1/2 Stack. |

Fox Vintage single 15 for most gigs
But sometimes a BF Showman head into a Telonics 15
Or a GK MB200 into a BW 12
For low vol gigs, a Deluxe Reverb with a Telonics 12 _________________ To write with a broken pencil is pointless. |
