I just had my old Carter U12 steel refurbished and set up by a chap in Germany called Wolfgang Benhartz who makes WBS steels. He is also a set-up wizard!
This is my dream minimalist 5 pedal 3 knee lever setup. Buddy Emmons has no C pedal either. If I need the F# I use the top string.LL also covers the higher E to F change in E9 mode. Surprisingly enough it plays quite in tune.

Thanks for posting, there's the occcasional "hmmm, that's interesting" thing that pops up, in this case its a different way off looking at your LL move.

(edit: however....just played through some of my standards, and I really need that E-F raise on that string...)

Yes I see your point, but this setup is only for my 'road steel'. In a 7 piece band the bottom end gets a bit lost in the mix so Im ok with only the higher E to F. I see it as a B6 with a few E9 'sounds' available.
There's some wild chords to be found with this setup!.... have to play it a bit more. Happy New Year
