What does this price mean? It says 5.498 Euro. I know in Europe, they use a dot "." where we in the USA use a comma "5,498" but surely this instrument isn't being offered for more than five thousand Euros! So, what's up with this price? Do you know, Thomas? _________________ www.JimCohen.com

Jim, I am afraid that really is 5,498 Euro. That is $7505.87 Dollars US. C'mon man, you make that each night you play with Beats Walkin' and we all know that the steel player is the lowest paid person in the band. I want to see yours before I order mine! |

Jim,
yes, the price is crazy 5,498 Euro thats approx. 7500 USD ! We can buy lots of vintage Fenders with that money.
Interesting thing is that they say, that all punched metal parts were produced with the original pressing machines from the 50s.

It looks like it is the same guitar.
Check the odd wood pattern on the side facing the camera.
Look at the position between the neck pickup and the fretboard end. |

... and even at that extravagant price, they couldn't get pickup covers for it! I believe the Guit-Steel pickup covers are made from two Mustang covers cut and super-glued together... I bought a used SM pickup just for the cover. _________________ New FB Page: Lap Steel Licks And Stuff: https://www.facebook.com/groups/195394851800329 |
