This is a question to you fellows who use steel. King amps. I just traded a Nashville 400 for a steel King amplifier , both like new. I don't know if I got the short end of the deal or not, since I had two 400's. I thought I would try the steel King, can't seem to find a setting I like, would appreciate any suggestions on setting the tone control on the steel.king,

Willie - If you will use the "Search" button at the top of the page you can search for Steel King Settings. You will find quite a few topics that will give you lots of settings to try out.

Here are the settings I'm currently using for both of my pedal steel guitars:

Tilt: Straight Up
Treble: Straight Up
Mid Level: 9:00 to 10:00 o'clock
Mid Freq: 2:00 to 3:00 o'clock
Bass: Straight Up

Hope this helps.

I had a Steel King and was not happy with the tone until I replaced the factory speaker with a 1501-4 Black Widow. I then received many compliments on the tone of my push-pull.

Then I needed some quick cash so I sold it.....and regretted it later.

I HAVE 2 STEEL KINGS I REPLACED ONE SPEAKER WITH THE EMENINCE EPS 15C ITS BEEN IN THERE 2 MONTHS, SOUNDS OK I THOUGHT I LOST SOME WARMTH, I JUST PUT THE ORIGINAL SPEAKER IN THE OTHER SK AND I CAN TELL YOU THAT THE 15C IS COMING OUT AND IS GOING IN THE ITEMS FOR SALE, MY OPINION IS I LOST THE RETRO SOUND THAT I LIKE. IF YOU GOT THE ORIGINAL SPEAKER FOR SALE MAIL ME
GOOD LUCK
ED
