Does anyone have some new Derby return springs they want to get rid of:)...Uhhh I mean sell...serious.
I need 4 or 5 cannot get those people at Derby to answer the phone or any messages I see them advertised
new on the forum I would not buy another one one they won't sell you parts...o course it is mostly an Emmons anyway.. just need some r springs thank you Gentlemen. |

are you sure you need them? you can't have had that guitar very long. maybe you should just get used to it for awhile before you go changing things around. springs can be adjusted by lengthening or shortening them if really necessary.
derby's are good steels. shouldn't be any problems unless some other idiot messed around with it. |

Chris I was lubricating the fingers and moved one of them the return spring popped of the screw soid another one I finally had to change a cpl from 9th and second and use them on the others I don't think this steel was hacked up it is like new underside,I have one on 4th string really tight to keep it from popping off it makes 4 lower a little heavy so was just going to replace a cpl three:). |

Bill,
I had a steel with a similar problem. The changer spring adjustment screws were really short and wouldn't allow me to back them off without popping out of the springs. I just bought some longer screws for a couple of bucks, and solved the problem.
You will have to determine the size, probably something like 4-40. Then go to:
